The past two months, I spent my time at iRail, the open transport company, working on the new iRail. I had a great time working on the new site, and it has been released. I actually did a writeup on hello.irail.be, so go check it out.
In the meanwhile, I am working on my final bachelor’s project, which is called ‘OpenShowcase’. OpenShowcase is basically a platform for developers. OpenShowcase allows you to share the open source projects that you have been working on. It also acts as a search engine, so you can share and explore ideas. It is powered by a database, so you can actually search and there’s all kinds of metadata available, like tags, categories, programming languages, and so on.
If you would like to go and check it out, there’s a beta coming very soon, available on beta.openshowcase.net. It’s also available on GitHub, so feel free to check out the source. The project is licensed under the GPLv2.
