Animation and looking forward to a story

January 14, 2013 1 minute read

đź•° Feeling nostalgic? This is a post from 2013, which means I was still a student during this time. Most of my posts from this timeframe are related to school or the fiction I was writing. These might not mean much to you.

After my exam, which had given me some more insights into AJAX (practice makes perfect, right?) I realised that this little blog thing I have going can actually work properly without me needing to add additional objects to the articles.json file. All I needed to do was simply close the paragraph that is opened (this is how posts are parsed) and there you go.

Upon opening a new paragraph in the JSON-file… well, it does what you’d expect. The true power lies in the possibilities, since you can use native HTML inside JSON-files. I can use links (as I have done before) and images in a post, but also multiple paragraphs.

Regardless of these developments, I should also talk a bit about my progress on the short story. I have already decided on a setting, but the execution is going to be a bit tricky. I hope to have the short story done by the end of February. (Which should be possible, seeing as how the exams are done the 25th. We’re ending with New Media Design and Development, given by arguably the best teacher at our campus, but this particular exam isn’t going to be easy. At all. It includes parsing JSON files without any help from our friend Google, and copying from already written files - like this one - is also prohibited.)

So, what’s new? Good question. If you’re reading this on a display that isn’t a smartphone, you’ll notice a button near the navigation that toggles widescreen display options for this site. It’s for people with large monitors that like to make use of their monitors. Another addition is focus mode. (Also only available on larger displays.)
